The DS-KV6133-WME1 is a modern video doorbell that can either work stand-alone or be integrated into a modular system. Stand-alone means it can function without a separate indoor station; thus, you can call and communicate directly through the Hik-Connect app on your smartphone.
In terms of power and connectivity, the doorbell can be powered via PoE (Power over Ethernet) 48V using a PoE adapter or PoE switch. Note: Do not use the PoE port of a recorder directly. Alternatively, a 12V DC adapter can be used. The doorbell also supports WiFi at 2.4 GHz and can be connected via LAN. Video footage can be stored by adding the doorbell to your recorder via IP address so that it is recorded on a free channel.
The doorbell has a 2 megapixel Full HD camera with IR night vision and True WDR, with a horizontal viewing angle of 129 degrees. The housing is aluminum alloy and weatherproof to IP65. You can conduct two-way audio through the doorbell and make calls directly through the Hik-Connect app. The device supports opening electronic locks and has a built-in Mifare card reader. There is a tamper alarm if the doorbell is disconnected and support for microSD cards. The video doorbell is a surface mount model and can optionally be mounted in a metal surface mount box for a neater finish. The dimensions are 18.1 × 10.3 × 2.9 cm.
Additional tips: if you want to connect the doorbell to a recorder, always use the doorbell's IP address and add it to a free channel. PoE is convenient because power and network run through one cable, but never use the PoE of a recorder, this can cause damage.
